Richmond Rehab is in the privliged position of having highly experienced therapists who have been helping patients with muscular pain for years. Which Therapy Should You Book For?

Choosing a therapy or therapist can be a daunting prospect for a new patient. Though each of our therapists have special areas of interest, all of our therapists are experienced in all styles of soft tissue therapy. If you're experiencing a new injury that you have concerns about, we would typically recommend seeing one of our physiotherapists first. For those patients with issues that are easily explained by your activities or have responded well to massage in the past, we recommend booking with one of Richmond Rehab's soft tissue team members. Simply let us know what your concerns are when booking and our therapists will help guide you to the most appropriate therapy.

How Long Should I Book For?

We often have new patients asking about how long to book for. It is a difficult question to answer as not all patients have the same needs. Sometimes patients are very sensitive to massage, particularly if they haven't had much work done in the past. In these instances we would recommend booking for a longer session to give us the opportunity treat what needs to be treated without you experiencing unnecessary discomfort.  We make a similar recommendation for new patients as we need to assess which muscles are involved and maximise your outcomes. This does not mean you'll be spending 30 minutes talking about your muscle pain, we want to get you on the table as quickly as possible but we want to make sure your massage is effective!

If you're a returning patient who is seeking ongoing work on one or two areas (such as sore legs from running), we recommend booking a shorter session. Short sessions are ideal for the ongoing symptomatic treatment of headaches, sports recovery massage or during late stage rehab following an injury.
